The Evangelical Lutheran Church in in America (ELCA) is an engaged, active body of people who put faith in God into action–in millions of ways, all over the world. The ELCA is a member church of our global Lutheran organization called the Lutheran World Federation.
Because of Jesus’ love, we are freed to serve our neighbors in love. Find out what Jesus’ death and resurrection means for the world.
Regardless of age, race, or status in life, members of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America welcome you to join this community of faith. If you’re unfamiliar with our church, some of what you learn may surprise you. Visit the ELCA webstie for a tour through one of the largest church bodies in the United States.
Below is the vision of the ELCA. St. Paul is a member church, and therefore we share in this vision.
Claimed by God’s grace for the sake of the world, we are a new creation through God’s living word by the power of the Holy Spirit;
Gathered by God’s grace for the sake of the world, we will live among God’s faithful people, hear God’s word and share Christ’s supper;
Sent by God’s grace for the sake of the world, we will proclaim the good news of God in Christ through word and deed, serve all people following the example of our Lord Jesus, and strive for justice and peace in all the world.
