The Grace Center is a community drop-in center for people in crisis. Our pastor, Rev. Anne Deneen, is one of the founders of this interfaith ministry of congregations on Cape Ann. The center opened for the three days a week, in 2011. Now, The Grace Center is now open five days a week. Guests drop-in any time between 8:30-4:00 p.m. Our semi-permanent home is the Gloucester Unitarian-Universalist Church on 10 Church St. in Gloucester, MA. See the Grace Center website link below to know where we are.
We are always in need of more volunteers. Grace Center would not be possible without a large group of volunteers and material and spiritual aid from the wider community. Some of our members volunteer for Grace Center. Volunteers come from all walks of life. Our guests are often people from our community who are without adequate shelter, food, or medical care. Grace Center is often a net for those who be unable to find assistance in other ways. Our funding comes from donations and grants. In 2018, we became part of the Lifebridge network of sites, but our focus is on the needs of Gloucester and Cape Ann. Our work and programs are designed to help stabilize the lives of homeless persons. We have served over 1500 individuals. Pastor Anne continues to serve on the Grace Center Advisory Board, She and other volunteers in our congregation are happy to answer any questions about The Grace Center.
The Grace Center motto is “acceptance, hospitality and opportunity.”
